Gigantic Jute Rug (in which I chronicle my first Joss & Main experience)

Since we painted the sunroom and got our new couch, we’ve been on the lookout for a 9×12 rug for the space to finish it off a bit more.

I’d been stalking Joss & Main (a fairly affordable home decor/furniture flash sale website) for a few weeks when we sprung for this rug:

It seemed to fit the bill–it’s the right size (HUGE–9×12), the right price ($255), and it’s neutral–so I can layer a rug and add some color as we feel it.

But when we got the rug, there was one small problem (look VERY closely):

Our 9×12 rug was in fact only 11′ 6″ by 8′ 6″. Which, in the grand scheme of things, isn’t a big problem, but they’d advertised it as a 9×12, so I was a bit perturbed.

So I called Joss & Main’s customer service and they apologized and refunded me 50% (!). That, in my opinion, is GREAT customer service.

The rug is nice and texture-y and it feels like a foot massage when we walk on it.

And even though we waffled on whether or not we needed a rug pad, we’re SO glad we sprung for it. It holds everything down nice and securely, and even offers a bit more padding.

Little by little, our house is becoming more like our home! Since we got the rug and couch, we’ve been spending way more time in the sunroom. It’s been swell.

Oh, and Kelly at the blog View Along the Way has THE FUNNIEST blog post ever about this same rug. Click here to read it (and to check out her incredible closet makeover at the same time)!

Anyone else ever shopped Joss & Main? After this experience, I’m all in, despite the size error on their part. Great customer service wins in my book any day.
