Renovation is a never-ending process, isn’t it? One project leads into another and another and another, and we’re finding that if we change one thing, 4 other desired changes take it’s place.
But before we begin: DISCLAIMER. I have procrastinated on writing this post because the pictures are terrible. Just terrible. I know. But then I realized that 1) I don’t have time to take new pictures, and more importantly, 2) my photography skills? just aren’t adequate for the magic required for these pics. So bear with me.
Here’s what our main floor half-bath looked like when we moved in. It was painted in the same color as the sunroom, and the light? had wrought iron vines on it.
This will be the first bathroom we redo completely. We have big plans but the money needed for said plans still needs to be earned. So in the meantime, we tackled two things that were easy and cheap: paint and a new light.
Ahem. See the most awesome picture I’ve ever taken and please don’t judge me too harshly.
We ran out of baseboard before we got to this room, so that remains unfinished. I have no immediate plans to finish it, as it is something that is easily ignored. I’m afraid this may be one of those things that we’ll still be procrastinating on years from now, which bothers me, but not enough to do anything about it yet.
Unfortunately, this is how my brain works.
We used Ben Moore’s Palladian Blue and got a $60 light from Home Deep that I LOVE. This picture below shows the color WAAAAY more accurately than the pic above (where the paint appears to glow in the dark? Alas, it does not).
But now the light matches nothing in the bathroom. Everything else is oil rubbed bronze. So…more projects? We’re accepting donations whenever.
