I came to the realization recently that we have never once paid for an end table. All have been given to us or acquired for FREE (which is, obviously, my favorite). Some were given to us by family members, and one I found near a dumpster and made over.
The trend continued when, a few months ago, I found this table saw at a thrift store. I purchased said table saw (works great!), but do you see what it’s attached to?
An end table! It was in great shape, despite its stint as a table saw-table, except for the top, which had been sanded down to the bare wood.
I ended up painting the whole top, but it still needed a little pizzazz…
…so I painted a mint green border around the top edge.
It’s hard to see it in this picture, but it adds some much needed color to this side of our living room.
We’re not exactly sure how to use this space–currently we have it set up as another seating area, but since we have two other seating areas on the main floor (sunroom and living room by fireplace), it’s a little redundant and never gets used. Perhaps we need a piano? But this minty table works for the time being.
