Since I’ve done a spring and summer exterior house tour, it only seems appropriate that I do a fall tour, right? We’ve got a beautiful backyard (despite us!? imagine that!)–it’s perhaps my favorite thing about our home. The opportunity to snap some photos presented itself grandly on Monday when there was a brief sunny period one afternoon amidst several rainy days.
Our house is flanked on both sides by mature trees–coniferous on the driveway side, and deciduous (mostly Black Walnut) on the other. If you look closely, you’ll be able to tell that we’ve s.l.o.w.l.y. been painting away at the trim. Not sure I’m completely loving it, but that’s another story for another day.
Below is the back of our home with that natural area on the right. Just off the frame a little bit farther to the right is our part-time creek, which was babbling away because of all the rain we’ve gotten lately.
If you do a 180 from the picture above, you’ll see the star of the show–our little lake. I cannot begin to tell you how much we’ve enjoyed seeing the seasons change out here–every month brings new surprises and delights. I don’t think this will ever get old!
Here’s the view from the deck. We’ve put away most of the patio furniture away for the winter. We also took out the dock (OURSELVES), which is an experience I hope never to have to relive.
Long story short–we love this place!
