I Am the Pied Piper of Rugs

For some reason, rugs tend to flock to me. They jump in my cart and beg me to take them home with them. And I cannot resist their siren song.

It’s happened once again. Kenny and I came across this wool 8′ x 10′ rug for a mere $125.

It’s got an ombre sort of pattern and is oh so soft. We are pretty sure this was a display rug at a local furniture store, but it’s in excellent condition. The original price was more than $1200 but I’m pretty sure the store normally sold this for around $600.

We rarely spend any time in this front area of the living room (it’s sad: I have to keep dusting that blue chair-and-a-half), but this rug makes the room feel much more warm and welcoming. And yes…my shelves are a mess. Much more so currently than indicated in the photo below since I poached half of the stuff for our master bedroom built-ins.

And…I had to include this photo of our stairway, even though this post is supposed to be about the rug. It’s still one of my favorite DIY projects.

Anyone else adopting stray rugs into your home?…or need me to take one off your hands? ;)
